- Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0: The Union Cabinet has approved the extension of the Jal Jeevan Mission until 2028. The mission, originally launched in 2019, aims to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual tap connections to all rural households in India.
- Sujalam Bharat Digital Framework: Under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0, a new national digital system will be created to assign a unique "Sujal Village ID" to every village for real-time digital mapping and tracking of water supply progress.
